About duplicate documents
Have you ever wondered how to locate an individual duplicate of a document in your database?
Today we wanted to share with you some tips and tricks for identifying duplicate documents during the eDiscovery process.
Why are there duplicate documents if duplicates are removed when the data is ingested into the database?
Individual duplicates can exist if identical documents exist in different emails as attachments.
Duplicates can also exist if the metadata or content of a document has been edited by software throughout the life of the document.
This could render the deduplication process useless but at eDiscovery Collab we will be able to find a solution to identify these duplicates either textually or conceptually.
How this can be a useful feature.
If a document is coded and that document has a duplicate in the database, you can hit the Find Duplicate feature (in Nuix Discover) and Document Duplicates (in RelativityOne) and code those documents exactly the same.
This can save you legal review time and increase the speed of review.
How to find duplicate documents in Nuix Discover
Nuix Discover has a very handy feature where you can ‘Find individual duplicates’ of the document you are reviewing in the database.

- Click the button.
It is that simplie – Nuix will return a list of the duplicate individual documents in the database.
